It’s been almost 5 years since starting Hemp On Toast and I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has supported me through buying the clothes, coming to my workshops and reading my news!
It has been rewarding to get such positive feedback from the clothes and hear so many people say their Hemp On Toast garment is the go-to item in their wardrobe! As a designer and maker who started out with the intention of making clothes that will suit people’s lifestyles and day-to-day wear, this is very satisfying to hear!
I think the hemp fabric and it’s wearability largely speaks for itself. I’m happy to be part of the movement that debunks the myth that hemp is a scratchy, uncomfortable fibre for hippies!
As many of you will have read in my previous newsletter, I will be venturing into the world of bespoke tailoring, starting a year-long course this September. I have decided to close shop for the duration of the course, as well as this summer. This will give me the full chance to focus on my learning as well as to explore new ideas, fabrics, designs and dyes for the future!
My website will still be there in a display-only form, where you can check out the clothes and what I’ve been up to. I’ll be writing some regular updates along the way as I explore and learn new techniques that I can apply going forward – it will be interesting to get your feedback and creative input too!
I’ll be doing this via my Instagram and Facebook as well as this newsletter (less frequent).
I’ll also still be stocking a limited number of items at Atwin on Bridewell Alley in Norwich, so please do go there and check out the shirts, corduroy jackets and vest tops!
Also see the In Stock section on the website for a few designs that are left in stock!
I would love to hear from you and look forward to sharing all things plants, fashion and design!
Thanks again for all your interest and support up till now.
Hemp Love from
Ilona
